Take a Step Closer to the Darkness and What Lies Beyond

There is always a tipping point where something innocent becomes sinister.

When I commuted to college, I parked in the same parking lot just about every day for three years. There was only one time when I felt anxious to enter it, and, to this day, I have no idea why. The sun was setting, birds were singing, and other students, brain-dead from a long day, were shuffling to their own cars. It was mundane – and suddenly incredibly creepy. In Volume 8, we’ll be exploring some of these hidden tipping points.

Dead House questions the moment that mercy becomes cruelty. Two brothers are forced to decide when exactly their reality becomes unreliable in What We Call Home. And in Sleepless Sister, a teenage girl struggles to find the sometimes-thin line between loyalty and victimhood.

There’s always a line. And, sometimes, you won’t know where it is until you cross it.
